1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lerniyo ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. The Service is operated by Yousaservices FZCO, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Lerniyo is an AI-powered German language learning platform designed for Arabic and Darija-speaking learners. The Service includes lessons, exercises, AI-powered practice conversations, exam preparation, and certification features accessible via web browser and progressive web app (PWA).

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent.

4. Subscription Plans & Payments

Lerniyo offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed in EUR via Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) until you cancel.

  • Prices are displayed in EUR and may be updated with 30 days' notice.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • No refunds are provided for partial billing periods, except as required by applicable law.
  • Free trial periods (for school plans) convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.

5. AI-Generated Content

Lerniyo uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude, ElevenLabs) to generate educational content, practice conversations, exam questions, and audio. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. Lerniyo is a learning tool — it does not replace professional language instruction or official certification exams (Goethe-Institut, telc, ÖSD).

6. Certificates

Lerniyo certificates are internal assessments indicating your performance on Lerniyo's practice exams. They are NOT official CEFR certifications and are not recognized by government agencies, universities, or employers as proof of German language proficiency. For official certification, register with Goethe-Institut, telc, or ÖSD.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, subscription gates, or payment requirements
  • Use the AI chat feature for purposes unrelated to German language learning
  • Upload or transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the Service's source code

8. Intellectual Property

All content on Lerniyo — including lessons, exercises, audio, illustrations, and software — is owned by Yousaservices FZCO or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission. Your user-generated content (chat messages, exam answers) remains yours, but you grant Lerniyo a license to use it for improving the Service.

9. School Plans

School plans are subject to additional terms. The school administrator is responsible for managing student accounts and ensuring compliance with these Terms. Schools are billed per student per month. Minimum student requirements apply as stated at the time of purchase.

10. Limitation of Liability

Lerniyo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Dubai, UAE.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
