At Lerniyo, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information. Lerniyo is operated by Yousaservices FZCO, based in Dubai, UAE.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Lerniyo:

• Account information: email address, first name, last name, username
• Learning progress: completed lessons, exercise scores, XP earned, streaks
• Exam data: exam attempts, answers, AI-graded scores, certificates
• Subscription data: plan type, payment status (processed by a secure third-party payment provider)
• Device data: push notification tokens, app version, device type

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and personalize your learning experience
• To track your progress and maintain streaks
• To generate AI-powered exam grading and tutoring feedback
• To send push notifications (lesson reminders, streak alerts)
• To process subscription payments via a third-party payment provider

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in a managed PostgreSQL database with row-level access controls. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We do not sell, share, or rent your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Lerniyo:

• Cloud infrastructure — Authentication, database, and file storage
• Payment processor — Subscription billing — we never store your card details
• Push notification service — Device tokens used to deliver in-app notifications
• AI service providers — Exam grading, language tutoring, and audio generation
• Analytics (PostHog) — We use PostHog (EU-hosted servers) to record anonymised session replays and track app performance. All keyboard inputs are masked — no passwords, typed answers, or personal text is ever captured in recordings. Session replays are used solely to identify and fix usability bugs.

Some providers may operate outside Morocco or the EU. We apply standard contractual safeguards for any international data transfer. The full list of specific providers is available on request at [email protected].

5. Your Rights

• Access: request a copy of your personal data at any time
• Correction: update your profile information from the app
• Deletion: request complete account deletion by contacting us
• Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format

Account Deletion & Grace Period

When you delete your account from the app, your paid subscription is cancelled immediately and you stop being charged. Your account is marked for deletion and you are signed out. Your data (progress, certificates, preferences) is retained for 3 months in case you change your mind — simply sign in again during that period to restore your account. After 3 months, all your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems. You can also choose to permanently delete your account immediately from the restore screen.

6. Children's Privacy

Lerniyo is designed for learners of all ages. For users under 16, parental consent is required. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Lerniyo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
