Your streak
Finish a lesson today, your streak (🔥) goes up. The most important number in the app.
Nour's suggestion
Every morning, Nour looks at where you're at and tells you exactly what to do today.
What you'll learn
Before you even start, see exactly what's inside: how many words, exercises, how many minutes.
The app's tabs
Five buttons at the bottom of the screen — each one takes you somewhere different.

We figure out your level first
When you sign up, we ask a few quick questions to find exactly where you should start. If you already know some German, you won't be starting from zero.
A lesson, in 5 steps
Every lesson takes about 7 minutes and is built like real coursework — not just a pile of multiple-choice questions.
- 1
Story
We start with a short story set in a real situation — the airport, the supermarket, the doctor's office, at work — so you see exactly where you'll use what you're about to learn.
- 2
Vocabulary
6 to 10 new words, shown to you again right before you'd naturally forget them — not on a random schedule.
- 3
Grammar
The grammar rule explained in plain language, the way a friend would walk you through it — not in dry textbook terms.
- 4
Exercises
4 to 5 different exercise types — fill in the blank, reorder the words, match the pairs, pick the right answer. Get the same one wrong 3 times in a row, and Nour steps in to explain.
- 5
Summary
At the end, you see exactly what you learned — the new words, how long you practiced, and your streak (days in a row you've studied).
Get the same exercise wrong three times, and Nour steps in to explain the rule a different way, in your own language, until it clicks — not just "incorrect, try again."
Real speaking practice, from day one
Speaking is the hardest part of learning a new language, and the most important part of the actual exam. In Lerniyo, you speak from your very first lesson.
At A1, you record yourself and get instant feedback. From A2 onward, you have a real voice conversation with Nour — set up exactly like the official speaking exam.
The dream is the destination. This is the journey.

An official-style exam at the end of every level
Lerniyo's exam is built the same way as the internationally recognized ones (Goethe, telc, ÖSD) — 4 skills, the same format, the same pressure.
Listening
Listen to a recording and answer questions about it
Reading
Read a text and show you understood it
Writing
Write, and Nour corrects it for you
Speaking
Speak, live, in real time
100 points total, you need 60 to pass. You get 3 attempts — fail all three and you'll need to wait 7 days before trying again.
Before the real exam, you can take practice exams in the exact same format — the first one is free, so you can try it with zero pressure.
Pass, and you get a PDF certificate for that level, ready to share straight to WhatsApp.
Lerniyo's exam is built in the style of internationally recognized exams (Goethe, telc, ÖSD) — it is not an official registration with any of those institutes. The Lerniyo certificate is a completion certificate for our own curriculum.
I'm Nour. I'll show you the way, one lesson at a time, until you speak with confidence.
A real curriculum, a real teacher, and a proper exam at the end of every level. I teach you in your own language, the way a friend would — and I don't leave until you can hold your own with confidence.
